Mark, Debs and the Walton family took over the inn in 2025, where family truly is at the heart of everything. At The Hunters Inn, our mission is to provide genuine, warm hospitality in one of North Devon’s most beautiful natural settings. As a family-run inn, we are committed to creating a welcoming space where guests can relax, reconnect and make lasting memories, whether through comfortable stays, quality food and drink, or time spent exploring the surrounding National Trust countryside.
We aim to balance tradition with comfort, champion local produce, support conservation, and ensure every visitors, two-legged or four, feels truly at home.
The Hunters Inn is one of 39 exceptional pubs and restaurants cared for by the National Trust, many of which hold historical significance. Every stay, meal and drink helps support vital conservation work, protecting local wildlife and improving accessibility throughout the valley for future generations to enjoy.
A Rich History
Originally a traditional thatched cottage, The Hunters Inn was rebuilt in distinctive Swiss Style during the Victorian era, giving it the charming character and striking appearance it retains today.
Set within four acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, the inn provides a picturesque setting for weddings, celebrations and family gatherings.
